Meri Alan is all ready for her sleepover at G.G.'s!
Sara Frances is having her first sleepover tonight. The girls have been so sweet. They've really been calm but a couple are still awake. They are resting quietly though. Sara Frances has been begging forever and I finally gave in. She's been super excited all week!! Thank you Carley for all of your tips! Kung Fu Panda is on right now.

Crock-Pot Roast

I got this recipe from Home With Heather's Blog back when I first started blogging. We've made it many times since. We had it Wednesday evening for supper. It's so yummy I wanted to post it. Also- it's one of the easiest meals I've ever made that tastes this good!

Easiest Crock-Pot Roast Ever

2-3 lb. chuck roast
1 packet dry Italian dressing mix
1 packet dry Ranch dressing mix
1 packet dry brown gravy mix
1 cup water

Place roast in crock-pot and cover with all seasoning mixes. Add water to roast. Cover with lid and cook on low 8-10 hours.
*I throw some baby carrots and sliced red potatoes in there and have myself a meal!
I am thankful for this recipe :)

Piano Festival

Sara Frances and Maggie
This Little Light of Mine!

ice cream after the festival
Sara Frances participated in the Mississippi Baptist Area 2 Keyboard Festival tonight at First Baptist Church. She played This Little Light of Mine. There were a lot of Calvary girls there playing. What a joy to hear them all. She was excited to see her Calvary friend Maggie. They've been instant friends since they were baptized on the same day around this time last year. Sara Frances is so growny now. She and Maggie sat on the front row and waited on their turn while all of us sat in the back. She didn't need us. ha! :) She did a BEAUTIFUL job!

Preschool Pajama Day

I told you we had a lot of pajama days! Meri Alan had her preschool pajama party today. She loved carrying her doll and pillow to school. They watched movies, made special snacks and had tons of fun! How blessed we are she has such a great preschool teacher and class this year!!

A New Home For Our Hermit Crabs

the old home and the new home
Meri Alan thought we should buy them some crab cookies!
Princess Pearl, Fireball and Rainbow are still alive and kickin!
They've kind of slowed down this winter but they're up and about in their new home. We went to PetSmart yesterday and picked out some new things for our precious pets. Anything to keep it fun!

last week

last Friday- just got home from Joyner Jubilee
It was fun and now it's done!
Mrs. McGraw's class at the storyboard assembly last week
Meet Miss Viola Swamp- she's supposed to look mean
Meri Alan was my assistant as I sold glow bracelets at Joyner's movie night last Tuesday night
Joyner had p.j.'s day last Tuesday.

Awana PJ Night

from left: Vic, Elizabeth, Sarah Katherine, Sarah Ann(in lap), Miss Julie, Lucy Helen and Meri Alan
Awana had pajama night on Sunday. Fun! Fun! Meri Alan was so excited about it she made Sara Frances want to go too. I was happy about that. :)
I actually copied this pic from Carley's page who borrowed it from Miss Julie's Facebook page. I'm trying not to get on Facebook until later in the day. Do you think I'll last? As my friend Wendy says, "It's a time sucker!" I love being on my computer!
Kids just love to wear pajamas. Sara Frances has pajama day at school today and then tonight they get to wear pajamas to movie night at Joyner. Meri Alan has her preschool pajama party next Wednesday. She's extra thrilled because her sweet teacher told her she can bring her doll with matching pj's!

a new name

Sara Frances thinks our blog needs a name. She has chosen Wolfe World for now but is still thinking about it. Meri Alan thinks we should name it "My Mama Likes the Outlet Mall!" hmmm...

Mrs. McGraw's Christmas Party

Sara Frances' teacher has a blog now. I just "borrowed" this class picture from it. She had the class over to her home for some Christmas cheer. So SWEET!!! & what a great bunch of kids!

Baby School PTA Meeting

The Sleepover Party
Baby School Petting Zoo
I don't know why I thought this was so funny and cute. As I've posted before, my girls love to play "baby school." Today was the first time I knew that baby school has a PTA. Meri Alan had Kit's typewriter going and they were having a meeting. Apparently the baby school PTA planned a petting zoo and a sleepover party.

AR Day

Carrol Trent and Sara Frances
Ms. Harrell

We celebrated another AR Day today at Joyner. We're proud of you, Sara Frances! So glad she loves to read. By the way, it's taken a week but we're almost done with Matilda. My girls have been glued to it and will be sad when it's done.
I'm real happy to have a 3 day weekend. Next week will busy with Joyner Jubilee. We're hoping to go see Hotel For Dogs sometime this weekend.
Hope you all are staying warm!

Thursday

What a healthy dinner! We had Happy Meals last night. Sara Frances is usually a Southern Style Chicken sandwich girls these days but she's been begging for a Hotel For Dogs Happy Meal. Yum!
Sara Frances was excited to get her fourth piano trophy yesterday. It's bigger than the others so it's extra special!!
She'll be playing This Little Light of Mine at the Baptist Hymn Festival in a couple of weeks. I'm loving hearing her practice.

When I Grow Up...

Kenneth just told me about a funny conversation he had with Meri Alan. Imagine that...

MA: Daddy, when I grow up I want to work at the Cabbage Patch Hospital. My only problem is that I need a house. Do you know anyone who builds houses in Atlanta?

K: No, Meri Alan.

MA: Well, I can just look it up on the internet.

The above pic was taken at her visit to the Cabbage Patch Hospital this past summer.

What we're up to!

Meri Alan picked out a sweet "baby" bear after getting her booster shots yesterday. She was a big girl and now she's ready for kindergarten! She's been running a fever this evening which I'm guessing is from the shots but other than that has felt good.
Sara Frances has been busy working on her story board project. It's due next Tuesday but we're trying to finish now since we're going to be super busy the next 2 weeks with an AR store and Joyner Jubilee. She loves projects and is working very hard! She also brought home Matilda to read this weekend. I don't think we'll be able to finish that but I do recommend it. It's funny so far. She and Meri Alan watched the movie last week and LOVED it!! Brr!! It's turned cold. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

2009

Meri Alan made this 2009 at preschool yesterday. Both girls have been excited to be back at school. I'm getting used to it but rather enjoyed not having a schedule.
Sara Frances made her name in Chinese writing at school. Part of this project was made with paper they made from scratch. Her challenge teacher visited China and Japan this fall so Sara Frances has really enjoyed learning from her experiences.

A Great Book!

We just finished reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. My friend, Carley, reminded me about this great story. I thought I had it but after looking decided to order it. It just came a couple of days ago. Even though Christmas has come and gone, we decided to read it anyway. I'm GLAD we did. I had forgotten just how wonderful the message in this story is. If you're looking for a fun, entertaining book- this is perfect. The true meaning of Christmas shines through!! My girls were so sad it had to end.
Hey! Unto you a child is born!

They decided to ride this way tonight. They usually ride ON a pony. There are several to choose from.

ready for dinner

Christmas holidays are almost over. Kenneth is off this weekend so we decided to go to Circle Y for a little more fun! It's less than an hour away and we love to go. It's great for winter because there are so many indoor activities. It's been a wonderful Christmas break. Sara Frances finally told me she was ready to go back to school. I'm not ready for her to go back but I'm happy for her that she is.
